Adding Entity (Object) Transitions

In Presentation Manager, every object the user adds to a slide, besides the background, is called an entity.  The the text (song and Bible) boxes are entities as well as any graphics that have been included.  In Presentation Manager an entire slide can have a transition, but individual objects can have their own transitions as well.

Setting up Entity Transitions

Here is a slide with 3 entities: the header, the verse and the graphic.  Each entity can have its own transition.

Slide with 3 entities.

To begin setting up the transitions, right-click the slide in the playlist and choose "Slide Edit".  When the property page comes up navigate to "Entity Transitions".

The Entity Transition Window.

To add entity transitions:

1. Click the plus button (+).  Every time you click the plus button a new transition will be added.  Here, the plus button has been clicked three times, so there are three transitions.

2. Use the up and down arrows to select which entity you want to transition.  The first transition is setup for the header, the second for the text, and the third for the graphic.

3. Set the Transition type by using the transition dropdown menus.  The first two transitions are set to move in, and the third transition, the object transition, is set to grow.

4. Use the ellipsis (...) button to set the direction for the moving transitions.  When the ellipsis button is selected, it will give you the option to set the motion from 1 to 12.   It is setup like a clock, so 12 will move in from the top, 3 from the right, 7 from the bottom left, etc.

5. Set the transition start and stop time.  When the slide is selected, these times will be used to determine when a transition will start, and how long it will take to finish.  You can see that the second transition will begin before the first has ended.  In this way it is easy to setup several transitions that take place at the same or overlapping times.

The Initial View button will give you a preview (on the Preview Window) of what the slide will look like when it is initially selected.

The Final View button will give you a preview (on the Preview Window) of what the slide will look like when the transitions have finished taking place.

The Show All button will place all of the entities on the Preview Window, so you can see what you have to work with.
