Nursery Alert

Presentation Manager has the ability to display alert text on the output screen, on top of what ever is currently projected.  Some churches use this feature to place "nursery alert" numbers on the screen, so a parent can know if their child needs them.  This alert feature is simple to use.

Press the Alert button displayed on the Screen toolbar to display the Alert page.

Setting the Alert text

The RenderStyle page allows you to edit the text rendering. More on RenderStyle here.

The 'Text' box allows you to type the alert to be displayed.

Programming the Alert

The Alert can be seqeunced with different effects. Below the text entry portion of the page is the alert effects control. Up to 5 display types can be assigned to the alert. The display types execute is a sequential fashion for the the total time programmed. When the alert is part of a create slide (ie dragged in from the tool palette there is also a 'Loop' checkbox allows an alert to loop while that slide is active

There are currently several alert types:

Static - Displays the text without any effects for the duration of the Display Time selected.
ScrollIn - Scrolls the text from the right-had side of the screen to the left-hand side of the screen in the time allocated
ScrollOut - Scrolls the text out from the right-had side of the screen to the left-hand side of the screen in the time allocated
Flashing - Flashes the text on the screen at determined Speed for duration of Display Time.
Type - Types the text out at the determined Speed.
Delay - Typically used at the beginning to a display sequence to dealy an effect. This may be done if another tranistion is active and we do not want to start the alert during this effect.

DisplayTime are measured in seconds.

Configuring the Alert

The Alert can be placed anywhere on the screen, by default it is placed on the bottom of the output display. To change the default position Click on the running alert in the preview. The box can be moved and resized. Alternatively right click on Alert button The preview window will show the alert box. You can click on the Alert box and change the size and position of the alert.
