Connecting Slides

Presentation Manager allows the user to make prepared slides the foundation for new slides.  This is useful when making sermons or announcement slides because the user can now link slides together, so when the title (or any other aspect of a slide) is changed on one slide it will automatically change on all of them.

Using the slide link feature

Begin by preparing a "template slide".  For a sermon this slide may include your background and your title.

Setup your template slide.

To make a second slide, begin by dragging a blank slide off of the slide builder onto your playlist. (You must be in the "Build" layout.)

Drag a blank slide onto the playlist.

Next, right-click the new blank slide and choose "Slide Edit" and then navigate to the "Inputs" page.

Use the inputs page to link slides.

Drag the "template slide" onto the "Inputs" page of the second slide.  This will make whatever is in the first slide the background for the second slide.

Now, add the text for your first point onto the second slide.  You can see that it is already using the background and title from the first slide, its input slide.

Edit your second slide.

Now if you want to make corrections to the "template slide" i.e. the input slide, those changes will be reflected in the second slide as well. If we change the font and color of the title in the first slide it will change in the second as well.

Making a change in the first slide affects the second.   The second slide reflects the changes made in its template slide.
