IO Keyboard Collection
The IO Keyboard Collection allows the user to add, remove, or change
the functions associated with the keys on the keyboard, as well as
change the names of the keys on the keyboard.
Using the IO Keyboard Collection
Drag 'n' drop the IO Keyboard Collection tool from its position in the ROTIO into the ROTMain.
Right-click select "edit".
Select the "Keyboard" tab.
A page similar to this will appear.
A list of keys is listed on the left hand side of the tool. The user
can see what function the tool has by clicking on it. The function of
the key will appear in the "Key" box located near the center of the
page. Once the user has seen what the key will do they can choose to
change it. To do this they select the drop down menu located with the
"Key" box and select a new command. The user can also choose to select
a modifier key that will need to be used with the original key in order
for it to complete the new command. They can select this by using the
"Modifier Key" drop down menu. Select "Apply" to save the changes.
For the example listed we chose to select the F1 key and change is
function to "numlock" and we chose to have no modifier key by selecting
"none".
Next, select the IO Collection tab.
This page allows the user to rename, add, or subtract keys. To add a
key type the name of the key in the Add IO box and select the "+"
button. To remove a key select the name of the key from the box on the
left side of the page and select the "-" button.
To change the position of a key within the list use the "^,~" buttons.
To change the name of a key right click on it. This will bring up a
name box .Type in the new name of the key and select apply. The
function of the key is also listed. In the example listed here we
changed the name of the F1 key to be "F1 Numlock" since we changed the
function of the F1 key to be that of the numlock. Once the name is
changed select "apply" and the new name will appear in the list on the
IO Collection page.
